The operatic production of Puccini established at all times a discussion with the musical, theatrical and literary creation of his time; his work is reflective and permeable to numerous influences of contemporary trends. Puccini is always something more than a composer: he acts as his own stage manager.
The elaborate dramaturgy of his operas, the imagination and configuration of the space, his direct influence during the set of his works, shows that his artistic will was not reduced only to the score.
